A scroll is an item that must be read in order to be used. Most scrolls have some sort of buff effect that applies to the selected target, but some just have a message. The buff from a [Runescroll of Fortitude] affects all party and raid members, while other scroll buffs only affect a single target.
Scroll buffs do not stack with player buffs that affect the same stat, or with other scroll buffs.
Players with the Inscription profession are able to create their own scrolls using Ink and Parchment, with the exception of Scrolls of Protection, which are only available as loot, from vendors, and, in some cases, in quest rewards.

Scrolls of Recall are consumables with effects similar to a Hearthstone. They have a separate 20 minute cooldown which they share with each other, can only be used by scribes, and have a chance of taking the user to the wrong location if the user's level is too high.
