Talent improvements[]
- [Holy Power] increases the critical effect chance of all Holy spells.
- [Purifying Power] increases the critical strike chance of Holy Wrath and Exorcism.
- [Vengeance] increases Holy damage.
Notes[]
Holy Wrath cannot damage Forsaken NPCs or players, who are Humanoid (not Undead), except for the Abomination guards in Undercity because they are classified as Undead.
Tips & tricks[]
Holy Wrath is the second best aggro-grab spell that the paladin has, the first can be acquired by spending 41 points in the protection tree for Avenger's Shield. Holy Wrath, unlike Avenger's Shield, will hit all (in this case) Undead and Demon targets and thus must be used carefully if cast to pull in Undead or Demon infested Instances, such as Scholomance or Stratholme.
Patch changes[]
Hotfix (2009-09-09): "We just deployed a hotfix to modify Holy Wrath so this spell has the same diminishing return mechanics that other player stun spells and abilities currently have. This will prevent Undead creatures that we wish to be susceptible to stun from being permanently stunned if you include enough Paladins in your raid who then rotate their Holy Wrath casts.
This will affect the difficulty of Anub'arak, but we didn't want the "right way" to defeat this fight to involve bringing five Paladins who glyphed their Holy Wrath spell."- Template:Patch 2.4.0
- Template:Patch 2.3.0
- Patch 1.6.0 (patch date:2005-07-12): Now actually shoots bolts as per spell description.
