Commander Springvale is usually the third boss in Shadowfang Keep, but he can also be the first one, if the party decides to skip Razorclaw the Butcher and Baron Silverlaine.
Background[]
A paladin ghost found in Shadowfang Keep. He was human once, but he was killed in the raid of Arugal and his worgen lackeys on Shadowfang Keep. He remains, however, haunting the council room with his soldiers.
Attacks and abilities[]
- [Devotion Aura]: Passive aura, which increases armor of the caster and its surrounding allies.
- [Divine Protection]: Cast when low on health. Makes the caster immune to physical and magical attacks and abilities for a short time, but also prevents the caster from using physical attacks or abilities.
- [Hammer of Justice]: Stuns the target.
- [Holy Light]: Heals a friendly unit.
Strategy[]
Commander Springvale will be pulled with one or two of his guardians (Haunted Servitor will always be pulled, Wailing Guardsman is the second one, but this pull can be avoided, if you have the patience for it). Commander Springvale himself has a Devotion Aura to support the guardians and himself, and once his guardians are low on health, he will start healing them. From time to time he will also stun the main target. It's best to kill the guardian(s) first, while interrupting Commander Sprinvale's healing. Once the guardians are dead, the party may then focus on Commander Springvale. At low health he will shield himself with Divine Protection, and heal himself. Be aware of that, and try to make the fight as short as possible, or else the party will run out of mana and eventually health.
Be careful! Once Commander Sprinvale dies, two Shadowfang Wolfguards will spawn deep in the hall, and will slowly walk toward's Commander Springvale's room. If you are caught by them while fighting, it may result in death! So just wait until they come into the room and slay them there.
