Since we haven't seen anyone actively editing here, but new WoW content is constantly being added to Wowpedia, we will archive this wiki and put up a notice to visitors that they should go there for the most up-to-date information and active community. This wiki here will remain open for readers.

If you have concerns about that, please speak up! Otherwise, we'll go ahead a week from now.

Wowpedia might have more traffic than this site just because it has been up much longer. But when it comes to classic and you can't even compare infos you can get from these two sites.

For example, if you want to know something about some class' abilities, you can't get that info from Wowpedia as those infos are only valid when it comes to retail WoW. If you want to know about abilites you use in classic, you have to use other sites and those sites doesn't have those infos.

I'm just curious why should we recreate every page from vanilla-wow to Gamepedia when that info already exists in this very site?

If someone has counter argument to my opinion, please, share it. I'm willing to read it.

Ps. do note that if info on pages are correct, why edit them? Unless you are changing format that info is in. Like all classes abilities (there's 3 different formats, I'm planning to change those all so it would be same across all classes)

Wowpedia received 14 million pageviews while this wiki here "only" received 5.6 million pageviews in the last 30 days, not because it's older, but because it is more visible on Google. Google looks at how actively a site is maintained, how often it is updated, and how satisfied people are with the information they find. Wowpedia is actively working on adding Classic WoW content and on making it accessible.

This wiki here has a large community of readers, but receives very few edits, and doesn't have a single active admin. We're not suggesting this wiki's content should be copied over one to one on Wowpedia - on the contrary: it contains some content from private servers, which, while it's valuable to some, doesn't really belong on Wowpedia.

We're saying that, if you have Classic WoW content that is still missing and that you'd like to make available for other players, do it on Wowpedia, because it's more likely to be seen and appreciated there.

For those who like to use this wiki here as a reference, we're not taking that away. We just ask that editors join the more active community on Wowpedia and participate in their Classic WoW project.

Point taken. It's just awfully huge thing to do as Wowpedia as zero information about Classic (other than what Classic is). So basicly have to create everything.

Wowpedia has quite a bit of information on Classic WoW, but it is admittedly hard to find. I have passed on your feedback to the lead admin, and he will ensure that Wowpedia at least adds featured links to Classic content in their local navigation and main page.
